Deepnet Reinforces Remote Worker Security
Deepnet released world’s first two-factor authentication for Outlook Anywhere
InfoSecurity Europe, London, 30th April 2009 – Deepnet Security Ltd (www.deepnetsecurity.com), a leading provider of Authentication solutions, today announces the general availablility of two new technologies; a unique solution to provide two-factor authentication for Microsoft’s “Outlook Anywhere”, and a solution to enforce authentication for Windows Logon via SafeStick – an encrypted USB memory stick provided by Blockmaster Ltd. Together these new software technologies from Deepnet provide further security for Businesses who need to securely provide remote workers access to sensitive corporate information.
Deepnet’s Outlook Anywhere authentication solution prohibits unauthorised access to a company’s mail servers, and allows Microsoft Outlook users to securely connect to their Exchange servers over the Internet securely using RPC over HTTP. It will offer a secure, efficient way to access Exchange information without the need to set up a virtual private network.
Additionally, BlockMaster’s secure USB memory stick, SafeStick, can now be used by Deepnet software as a two-factor authentication token for Windows Logon, helping enterprise customers ensure network resources are only accessible by authorised users, whether working locally inside the firewall or remotely via remote desktop. By requiring a SafeStick to be inserted in a computer, and that the correct password has been entered, this solution reinforces Windows logon with two-factor authentication, whether a computer is inside or outside the corporate network. With the threat of ID theft on the rise, this move gives Businesses of all sizes the assurance that persons accessing corporate desktops are in fact authorised, in a single integrated platform.
Yurong Lin, CEO of Deepnet said: “With phishing and ID theft at an all time high, confirming user identity is paramount. Organisations are crying out for simple ways to protect their identity on the move and we are delighted to have developed a solution to protect the widest used business applications in one device.”
Deepnet is working with Softek, a leading IT security distributor, to install its products and protect information at a number of businesses. Deepnet technology can scale from small businesses to large organisations with plug-n-play technology that offers ease-of-use and comprehensive threat protection.
Mike Bienvenu, Technical Director, Softek said: “Our resellers are constantly being asked for smarter ways to secure identity on the move and with organisations now more than ever looking to increase efficiencies through mobile working, the development of these Deepnet solutions represents a great business opportunity for the channel.”
Deepnet and Softek will be discussing the impact of compromised personal information and the benefits of unified authentication on stand P75 at this year’s InfoSecurity Europe show at Earls Court.
